Q: When to use asthma inhaler after steroids via nebulizer?
I was in the hospital this morning with an asthma attack and received steroid treatment through a face mask. It’s been about 12 hours since my treatment and I’m feeling a bit short of breath and wheezy. Should I take my rescue inhaler?
A: Yes.
If you were in the hospital, you should have been discharged on oral or inhaled steroids, and given instruction on this, as well as rescue inhaler use. You need to call your doctor or get in contact with a medical professional to discuss post-discharge treatment and develop an asthma action plan to prevent this from happening again.
You can take your rescue inhaler as often as every four hours.
Please call a doctor ASAP, and good luck!
Q: What’s hapnin’ to your body when you use an Asthma inhaler as a recreational drug?
If you take lots of hits from an asthma inhaler, it will make you shake a bit, and constantly fidget and move around
What causes this? Which chemicals are in inhalers, and what category of chemical are they in?
What positive/negative effects will it have on my body? (for long term and long term use)
Informed, preferably sourced, answers only please. And I don’t need a drugs lecture!
All help appreciated :3
A: Asthma inhalers contain a drug with steroids in them, steroids can, in time thin the blood out, so that is why we are monitered by the doc, every so often.too many hits with the inhaler, will make you feel dizzy because your blood is thinner anyway. The trouble is, as with any medication there will be side effects, this is just how it is, so we have to measure the pros and cons of usage. We need our inhalers, because they help open up the airways enabling us to breath more easily, therefore making our lives that much more livable.
Q: Can I use my asthma inhaler while laying down?
Im really tired and I don’t want to stand and use my inhaler can I just do it in bed?
A: Sit up in the bed and use your inhaler its more affective.
Q: what happens if you use a asthma inhaler and don’t have asthma?
i used my friends inhaler and i don’t
have asthma will it hurt me?
A: You won’t die but you just inhale medication used to open up your lungs and it contains a form of steroids. It won’t make you muscular or anything. It also won’t make you high either. I don’t if prolong unnecessary use can cause serious effects. Just don’t do it again, and don’t worry this one time thing won’t hurt you:)
Q: Is is safe to use an asthma inhaler to peak out on a running test?
I dont have asthma but I want to shave off some time on my run. I’m in great shape and run around a 6:02 mile. I just want ot know if it’s safe to hit the inhaler a bit before the run to shave a few more seconds. I’m not going for any records. Just wondering…
Yeah. I expected that answer. Of course I know I don’t need it. I was just wondering if I could safely. My time is pretty good as far as I’m concerned but I’m so damn competitive it drives me to to the extreme.
Good advise so far. I don’t intend on using the stuff but I had to ask if was safe. Like i mentioned before, I just wanted to know if it was safe to use. Guess I’ll just keep running my ass off and get better.
A: It is not going to do you any good. The inhaler is a broncho-dialator and will not improve your time. Depending on the inhaler, most of them do not have steroids in them. It is not going to hurt you but it will give you the shakes depending on how many puffs you take and it will also make your heart race. Dont think it will be worth it and it defiantly will not improve your time.
Q: I have asthma do i use my inhaler before going to the waterpark?
i was just diagnosed with reactive asthma and i have my inhaler but im going to a waterpark in a few minutes! help should i use my inhaler before i go or what should i do? anyone with asthma thats been in this position please help! THANKS!
A: Just bring it with you. If you are starting to feel like you may need it, then take it. That is the proper way to use it. Waterparks usually have lockers that you can put your personal stuff in but if I were you I would just bring a small bag and leave it there, so that you can gain quick acess to it.
Q: What happens if you use an asthma inhaler when you dont have asthma?
A: Just because an inhaler is used for asthma it doesn’t make it an “asthma inhaler” There are many respiratory diseases that use the same medications. So the most common ‘asthma inhaler” is albuterol. Albuterol is used in treatment of chronic bronchitis, emphysema, and cistic fibrosis just to name a few.
So if its albuterol you are talking about, it is much like adrenaline or caffeine in how it effects the body. It will raise the heart rate, may raise blood pressure, give jettery nurvous feelings and dry mouth. Not much different from slamming a few enegry drinks.
Now that said, there are been people who have died from consuming too many energy drinks. Their heart goes into a rhythm that can not effectively pump blood.
If someone is using any medication for no reason they are susceptible to side effects, some can be unpleasant or even make your sick or die.
Q: How often can I use an asthma inhaler?
Everyday?
A: I have an inhaler and on the side it’s listed as use twice daily as needed. I don’t use it daily though, only when I need it. But, to answer your question, do NOT use more than 2 times a day. If you need it more, go to the doctor and request an inhaler with a higher prescription. He may also put you on respiratory care and breathing exercises.
Good luck!
Q: What happens if you use an asthma inhaler and you don’t have asthma?
Is it bad for you in the short-term? Long-term? Side effects….
A: One of the posters is right. It will make you jittery for 20-30 minutes and make your heart race. Other that that, you are only wasting your time. You would have to use it for a long time to have any long term side effects.
Asmanex is a steroid and can cause infections in your throat. Albuterol is the most well known asthma medication and that is what is referred to above.
Q: Can you use your Asthma inhaler during Ramadan fasting?
Can you use your Asthma inhaler during fasting? during Ramadan
A: Using an Inhaler During for the Fasting Person
Question:
What is the ruling on a fasting person using an inhaler for breathing problems, and does it break the fast?
Answer:
This spray is vaporised and does not reach the stomach, so in that case, we say that there is no objection to using it when you are fasting, and it will not cause you to break your fast, because as we have said, none of its particles enter the stomach. Since it is something that is defused and vaporised, and it disappears, then none of it reaches the stomach, therefore it is permissible for you to use it when you are fasting and the fast is not invalidated by it.

Q: If you don’t have asthma and use albuterol (asthma inhaler) can you die?
I don’t have asthma but I’m wondering how many inhalations of the pump would it take to overdose? And, what happens when you do overdose on it? Do you die? Has anyone ever died from OD of albuterol?
A: No.
In fact, some high-intensity runners who don’t have asthma use it after they run because it decreases lung inflammation.
Q: Is it harmful to use an OTC asthma inhaler if you don’t have breathing problems?
It’s not for doing drugs, just to make people feel sorry for me.
A: you are brain dead. asthma inhalers are steroids which is a dangerous chemical. Why not get chemo treatment and have your hair fall out if you want sympathy?
Q: What would you say if you saw a woman use her asthma inhaler and then light a cigarette ?
i mean wtf ???!!!

Q: why do i feel this way when i use a asthma inhaler?
I was just prescribed a prescription for asthma. I have never had asthma, but my doctor thinks i have asthma and is sending me to a specialist for congestive heart failure. I am sort of young still and i couldn’t breathe that good over the last few days, so i decided to use the prescribed inhaler for the first time. It says to take one or two puffs every so many hours. I took one puff and about 15 minutes later, i felt like i was high or light headed. I have never been high before, but i feel like i have a buzz and can breathe a little easier. My eyes are glassy and i can’t seem to fall a sleep. I haven’t used it again, but i am calling the doctor on monday to see if they gave me the right prescription. My husband has asthma and uses the same inhaler brand as i, so he instructed me on how to use the inhaler, so that i wasn’t misusing it or taking to many puffs at once. Has anyone else ever felt like this before when first starting taking the inhaler prescription for asthma. The prescription is pro-air a common inhaler for asthma. Please only serious inquires.
A: Is it albuterol? If not, maybe it’s a stimulant or steroid.
I know ephedrine is used for asthma sometimes, that does it.
Q: Old Asthma Inhaler still good to use?
I feel like my asthma is coming slowly and i have my inhaler but it says on the box, ” Discard after June 2007 ” and its near the end of July, would it harm me if i use the inhaler?
A: My dr told me ages ago that you can still use an expired inhaler but the medicine won’t be as effective. But it isn’t toxic or anything so if its all you got. puff away. and call your gp for a new prescription.
